Book of the week
Our book of the week is Dirty Bertie by David Roberts.

We love laughing at Dirty Beritie's dirty habits. He picks his nose, licks the dog, eats bugs and does wees in his garden.
It's funny, silly and a little bit gross - especially at the end.
A big thumbs up from us!
Poetry Finals
Over the last 2 weeks we have been practicing saying some poems for the speech cup!
Today is the big finals competition. There are 4 children in room 3 who are in the finals.
They are Abbie Fern, Katelyn Phillips, Cameron Yates and Mya Rolton.
Poor Abbie is sick today (and it is her birthday!) so Sarah is taking her place.

We have learnt to say our poems without the cards. We can use loud, slow voices and we can make our voices sound really interesting. Some children even had actions to go with their poems!

Weekly Wind up
We had 3 new people start in Room 3 this week. they are from Room 2 so we knew them already! Welcome to Sarah, Taylor and Abbie. We love having you in Room 3!

On Wednesday we had spent all afternoon skipping. We were raising money for the heart foundation. We had lots of fun!

In Room 3 we have been learning about the seasons and we decided to use KidPix to draw some pictures of the seasons. The tricky part was exporting the pictures and saving them in to our own files in student write. Miss Little says we are so clever.

We are now using Word to write letters to our penpals in Canada. They are going on their big summer holidays now! Lucky them!
A big hi to Ms D who is at home checking in on our blog to see what what we are up to!

Being a great friend!
In Room 3 we have been thinking about how we can be fabulous friends to each other!
You can take turns.

We talked about how it feels when you have a fabulous friend, how a fabulous friend sounds and what a fabulous friend looks like!
These are some of the ideas we came up with and think are really important!

You can take turns.

You can use nice manners.
You can let people play with you.

Apologies
Miss Little is saying a big sorry to everyone who reads our blog. Her laptop has been very sick AND her digital camera stopped working! That has made it very difficult for Room 3 to get blogging. Never fear, we are back in action and ready to go!

Swimming
Every day for two weeks we have been going to Moana Pool to learn how to swim. (and to have a bit of fun as well!)
We get there by bus. Sometimes we get to watch TV on the bus!
When we get there, we get into our togs and walk up to the pools.
Some of us have lessons, while the others have a free swim in the wave pool.
Sometimes the teachers get in the water too and Emma and Julie.
We learn to float on our tummies and our backs. We learn to blow bubbles under water. We learn to use kickboards to help us move through the water. We learn to do strokes.
This is the whirl pool. We love the whirl pool because you can go really fast round the cornors.
We love going swimming every day. We do get a bit tired in the afternoon though.
