Snow Stories

We have been having some wonderful snowy weather here in Dunedin! we decided to write some stories to let you all know what adventures we have been having in the snow!

We also made some cool snow pictures to go with our stories!

In the weekend it was snowing, we called it Snow Go Day. I threw lots of snow balls, some landed on the roof. When I threw the snow balls, I felt excited. – Jeannie.

On Saturday Aidan stayed the night at my house. We were waiting for my Uncle to come. We had a snow fight. – Regan.

I built a snowman, his name is Spike. He is cool, my Dad made that name up. He has a mohawk and he has dragon eyes. My friend Darian and I went over a snow jump, we took the snow board. My snowman is the same height as me. Darian and I went down the hill. – Ryan.

I have a snow gun, I had a snow fight. I shot my snow gun. – Sammy.

The snowman has a bag. – Chloe.

I put snow down my brother’s top. The snow was deep. – Ethan.

In the weekend we made a snowman. It changed to different snow things. It changed every day and night. Me and Mum had a snow fight and when Mum wasn’t looking I got her on the bottom. – Alex.

In the weekend I threw a snowball at Ardie two times. I had a snow fight with Tony and Ardie. Angel came along to play with us in the snow, and we piled up the snow in a big heap, it was fun. Mum and Dad didn’t come out in the snow. Katelyn

In the weekend I made a snow ramp. I fell in the snow because my body was out of control. – Riley.

In the weekend I tried to make a snowman. Rebecca and I went on the sledge. I threw a snow ball at my Dad. It was fun, Rebecca threw snow balls too. – Abbey.

In the weekend I went out in the snow. It was the first time I got to wear my snow suit. My Mum painted my nails on Saturday. Precious has never seen snow before. - Lekeisha.

I made a snowman and we had a snow fight with my Aunty. – Nathaniel.

My whole family had a snow fight. I tried to build a Lego castle, I kept on losing it! I sneaked a snow ball down Mum’s undies!. – Liam.

I made a ramp in the snow for my bike with Tyrrell. – Jaidyn.

In the holidays I made a snowman all by myself. Mum and Dad stayed inside because they were cold. - Jonathan.

Our Busy Week

In two weeks we are going on a visit to the Karitane Marae. This week we have been doing lots of investigating about what to do on a marae, about parts of the wharenui (meeting house) and learning to say our mihi.

We all drew a wharenui each. We used Kidpix on the computer to draw our pictures.

Each wharenui had to have a tekoteko (a figure at the top who was an ancestor), maihi (the arms of the ancestorwho welcome guests), raparapa (the fingers) and amo (the legs).

We think our pictures are cool.

We were learning two things at once. We were learning about the wharenui and about Kidpix all at the same time!

Our First Snow!

Even though you can’t see it, there was snow in this picture. It was our first snow of this year today. We were doing reading in the class and we all ran to the window to see the snow. There was not much snow. There was none on the ground but we still felt excited to see the snow!

It is funny because the sun is shining now!

What we love about room 3 and Bradford School!

I like the sports shed because it has hoops, balls, and moon hoppers. I use it every day. Lekeisha.

I like watering the plants and flowers. I like getting stuff out of the sport shed. I like the bushes that make the words Bradford School.Sammy

I like school singing. Mrs Mitchell Bain is at the front of everyone. There is a screen to know what the words are. Alex

I like the sports shed because it has cool stuff. It has metal baseball bats and balls. There are tees. Tees are rugby things. They hold the balls up. You need a sports shed card. Ryan

I like the laptops because you get to go on them when you are allowed. I like drawing on Kid Pix. Ethan

I like to make flowers. Chloe

I like the computer. It is my favorite thing to do but I hardly get to have a turn. Vaughan

I like the star of the week and the sports shed. Star of the week does jobs for the teacher and gets to sit in a special chair. In the sports shed I like getting smiley balls out. Katelyn

I like star of the week because they get to sit on a chair and I like the sticker charts and our jobs we have to do. Abbey

I like the big hill we have by the top field. I like sliding down it. I like doing maths as well. Liam

I like the sports shed because I like the balls in there and the rugby balls. I use the sports shed on Monday. Jaidyn

I like reading because it is fun and I like reading some books. Jonathan

I like the teachers at Bradford because they are nice to you and they give you certificates for playing fair. Regan

I like the treasure box. You have to get 10 stickers first. Blain
